Lexia® Core5® Reading Correlational Research

Lexia Core5 Reading is a program designed to accelerate the development of fundamental literacy skills for students of all abilities in preschool through grade 5. 

Core5 offers explicit, systematic instruction through personalized learning paths in six areas of reading. As a blended learning program, Core5 integrates online activities with teacher-directed, offline materials targeted to the needs of individual students. Lexia is dedicated to conducting research to demonstrate the effectiveness of its programs. 

This Correlational Research document summarizes over 70 reports produced by Lexia Research demonstrating how program measures in Core5 correlate with test scores obtained on well-known interim and summative tests of reading ability. The reports are based on data collected from schools and districts across more than 20 states and include over 200,000 students. The correlations in these reports establish Core5’s program measures as a valid form of classroom assessment.
